Blogger Sarah Hearts shares about one of her favorite neighborhood eateries in Orlando, Florida.

Our next #sarahheartsorlando stop is at one of my most favorite restaurants in town. The Strand is a farm-t0-table eatery in the Mills 50 neighborhood of Orlando that never disappoints. The serve up delicious, fresh southern-inspired fare for both lunch and dinner.

The Strand, a farm-to-table eatery in the Mills 50 neighborhood of Orlando serves a different fresh menu for lunch and dinner daily. Make sure you save room for dessert and try their daily grain.

Their menu changes daily but there are a few staples, like the Strand burger and the Porkzilla (a loaded pork sandwich) that are often featured. Like most restaurants I visit, I almost always order the daily special. They always have a featured salad that is absolutely delicious and often have a daily special that has fresh Florida fish. Many of their ingredients are locally sourced and they have a large chalkboard by the door that lists where all the ingredients used came from.

The place is filled with simple, mid-century inspired decor. The walls are a perfect mint green! Though the seating area is small and you’ll often need to wait for a table when stopping in for dinner on a weekend, you can almost always grab a seat at the bar.

This salad is topped with blueberries and candied pecans and dressed with a bacon vinaigrette. Definitely stop in at The Strand next time you visit Orlando.

At our most recent visit, I of course, ordered the daily salad which was one of my favorites to date! The greens were topped with fresh blueberries, spiced pecans, and dressed with a bacon vinaigrette.

The fried chicken sandwich is a lunch staple at the farm-to-table restaurant, The Strand, in Orlando.

Another one of their staples is a huge fried chicken sandwich topped with bacon and house made pickles. I always skip the fries (which I heard are good) and order their daily grain—this time it was a delicious pesto quinoa.

Always save room for dessert when visiting The Strand in the Mills 50 neighborhood of Orlando. This olive oil cake is topped with fresh citrus and whipped cream.
