Hello Color Book Review

Rachel of the colorful DIY blog The Crafted Life just released her first book, Hello Color. It’s full of 25 easy to make DIY projects to help add color to your home. Keep reading for more peeks inside the book!

One of my favorite things about my job is how this little corner of the internet has connected me with fellow bloggers and creatives. Many of which have become some of my dearest friends. Case in pointโ€”Rachel, of the colorful DIY blog, The Crafted Life. As soon as we met in person a few years back we clicked and we’ve been color loving friends ever since!

Today I’m excited to share with you her new book, Hello Color! It’s available today on Amazon and many other retailers and it’s just so good I have to share it with you. The book, which Rachel wrote, styled and photographed all herself (#girlbossgoals) is jam packed with ways to add color to every room in your house.

If you’re not big on color or have been a little too scared to add it to your home, Rachel walks you through the process of creating a color palette that’s right for you using basic color theory. She even included a tear-out color palette card that you can customize and carry with you to the store. Oh and there’s also styling tips, her favorite house plants, and ways to include neutral colors too.

Now I’m going to share a sneak peek of a few of my favorite projects that are in the book! The first, shown above, is a pom pom basket that would be a perfect storage solution in just about any room. I’m thinking of doing this to a basket in the nursery and using it as a planter!

You know I’m a big fan of scallops, and I was so excited to see this colorful scalloped canister DIY. How cute would this be as a hostess gift?

In the back of the book, Rachel rounded up a few of her favorite illustrators and designers to create original art just for the book. And the coolest part is that these pages are perforated, so you can tear out your favorite ones and have instant wall art. Use colorful washi tape to display them or pop them in a clean, white frame and you’re done. I created the rainbow for the book and plan on hanging that up in the nursery.

Another favorite project, which would make a great bridal shower gift, are these gorgeous floral wooden hangers. Rachel uses pretty temporary tattoos to embellish plain wood hangers to create this custom look. I just love how each project can be totally customized to fit your style using as much or as little color as you like.

If you adore these projects as much as I do, grab a copy of Hello Color today and start adding color to your home!
