Today I’m sharing a simple DIY project that you can make for teachers! Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and after nearly a solid year of remote learning for most teachers they deserve a little gift. Gift cards (Target and Amazon are teacher favorites) are my go to gift along with a handmade card from your child.
If you’d like a fun way to dress up a plain gift card, check out my tutorial below for making teacher inspired gift card envelopes using just a few simple supplies.
Step 1
Print out the free template and cover the template shape with solid tape. Then flip it over and cover the other side.
Step 2
Cut out the shape along the solid black lines. Use tape to make a tab on one side.
Step 3
Use a craft knife to cut small slits to hold the gift card in place. Then cut a small slit so you can insert for the tab and keep the gift card envelope closed.

Step 4
Use other colors of tape to make details like a stem or leaf. Follow the same steps using different tape colors to create a pencil shaped or plain gift card envelope.
