In a couple weeks we’re heading to Japan and I cannot be more excited! One of the many things I plan on bringing back is some good matcha. Green tea ice cream has long been one of my all time favorite flavors and I’ve been on the matcha latte kick lately. So some high quality matcha from Japan is a must for me.

If you’re new to matcha, or just love all things green tea, then you gotta try these easy brownies. They are buttery and chewy, similar to a chess bar, but they are the perfect way to satisfy a sweet green tea craving.

Watch the video below to see how easy they are to make!

Green Tea Matcha Brownies

Ingredients

1 stick butter
1 cup white chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/4 cup matcha green tea powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° and lightly oil a square brownie pan. Place stick of butter and white chocolate chips in a microwave safe dish. Microwave in 20 second intervals until the butter is completely melted. Then stir until the white chocolate melts.
  2. Pour the chocolate butter mixture in the bowl of a stand mixer. Let it cool for a couple minutes, then mix in the eggs and matcha powder.
  3. Add the flour and vanilla extract and mix until it’s combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minute or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
