How to arrange a rainbow fruit and cheese board

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to celebrate in style. For me, that meant finding a way to incorporate a rainbow into a party appetizer for hosting a St. Patty’s party. Since charcuterie boards are easy for everyone to enjoy, I put together a rainbow cheese board with a variety of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, breads and other toppings so that it looked like a rainbow.

I used a combination of pomegranate seeds, mild cheddar cheese, sautéed bell pepper, grapes, blueberries and sliced plums to create my rainbow.

Let’s break down a few foods you can use to create the rainbow and how to arrange it:

Red: pomegranate seeds, red peppers, tomatoes, raspberries

Orange: cheeses, orange slices, carrots, bell peppers

Yellow: yellow peppers, peeled mango, pineapple

Green: grapes, pear slices, apple slices, green peppers, olives

Blue: blueberries
Purple: plum slices, grapes, blackberries

I arranged the rainbow down the middle and filled in the sides with a variety of cheeses, meats, breads, jellies or nuts. I like to think about the different combinations guests can make with the ingredients on the plate and make sure everything has a good pairing. My personal favorite is a slice of French bread topped with goat cheese, peach jam and a plum slice. No matter what, it’s just so pretty to look at!

  1. Visually, the game adopts a functional aesthetic rather than a realistic one. The graphics are designed to support gameplay clarity instead of immersion. This means players can easily track movement, react quickly, and focus on strategy rather than visual detail. It’s a deliberate trade-off that enhances performance and responsiveness.
