June: 2 months

Baby June is now 2 months old and I’m sharing her monthly update. If you want to learn a little about how I’m navigating motherhood and how she’s developing keep reading!

June is now 2 months old!

It’s hard to believe that our little June Willow is already 2 months old! Even though we are navigating parenting a day (or sometimes an hour) at a time, it already feels like she was always part of our lives. And it really feels like I was pregnant years ago, not just two months ago!

Since I’m now obsessed with reading other babies monthly updates, I thought it would be fun to begin sharing monthly updates of June. So if you’re into that sort of thing to, you’re in luck! And if you’re not, don’t fret, more DIYs will be coming really soon.

In the span of 2 months, I’ve gone through what feels like the worst roller coaster ever breastfeeding. Maybe I’ll share more about that in another post, but I’ll just say I think it’s hands down harder than pregnancy and birth. We’re plugging along and still going at it, and finally I feel like we’ve turned a corner just this week.

There have been so many changes from 1 month to 2 months. She’s outgrown newborn clothes and is now wearing size 0-3. Since we don’t have central ac in the house and it’s summer time, she unfortunately didn’t get to wear the adorable long sleeve rompers and onesies that were gifted to us. This little girl now makes tears when she cries (and breaks our hearts), and at the same time has discovered her smile. She doesn’t hate tummy time and in fact, was the star pupal for tummy time at our mommy and me class a couple weeks ago. She loves staring at Kevin when he’s doing anything and everything. And will instantly fall asleep on his chest.

She still absolutely hates the Snoo and sleeps like a champ in her DockATot. And as of 3 nights ago, she’s sleeping through the night! While I know that won’t last forever, it sure is nice (even though I’m still up several throughout the night to pump right now). Since day 1 she’s slept with her hands up and out of the swaddle and won’t have it any other way. What’s funny is that after 20 weeks in my pregnancy, we never saw her face again because her hands were always covering it. And now it’s funny to realize that her little personality was already showing!

She loves going on long walks while being worn in the Tula. Car rides are like magic for putting her to sleep except she hates traffic on the 405 (so do I baby girl).

She’s doesn’t mind getting dressed as long as she’s on the changing pad and can stare at the black and white horse wallpaper. She hated bath time until we got this cheap tub. Now she’s rather content.

Excited to see what the next month brings! She’ll be taking her first flight!

  1. I hear ya on the breastfeeding!! My little man will be 6 weeks tomorrow and it’s been a rollercoaster for us as well! Your 2 month update makes me think I should do the same… or at least write some of the milestones, favorites, & dislikes so we have a recorded memory of it! Time is flying and it will all feel like a blur if we don’t record it!
