Last week I was in LA helping Kevin out at Summoners Con, a League of Legends convention that he co-founded (Haven’t heard of the game? Me neither, until recently, but I bet your significant other plays it). I worked non-stop while in LA and even didn’t gram that much. Once we got back into town went went to look at a dog. Since Darcy passed away we’ve had a dog shaped void in our home (and hearts) and have been wanting to adopt another dog. But we’ve been traveling twice a month and it just wasn’t practical so we wanted to wait until we got back from LA and things slowed down a tiny bit (more on that later).

So of course, I searched the local rescue listings before we left LA and came across this foxhound/tree walking coonhound that looked so sweet. We went to meet her on Thursday and took her home that day. My days and nights have been spent bonding with the pup and making her feel at home. Poor thing is so scared of people and just about everything else. But she has a heart of gold and we are so thankful we found her.

Two days after we adopted Daisy I started our DIY kitchen remodel. Yep, less than 3 weeks from Thanksgiving, and yes, I’m hosting. And yes, I’m crazy.

In order to get things done in time for turkey day I decided to take some time off from blogging so I can focus all my time on getting the kitchen done. Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing all about it after it’s done :)

Thank you so much for supporting Sarah Hearts and hanging in there while I take some time away. If you’d like to follow the kitchen progress (and see photos of our new pup) be sure to follow me on Instagram. In the meantime, if you need more Thanksgiving inspiration, check out my Thanksgiving page and Pinterest board.
