kevin and i are having cupcakes at our reception. the bakery offered a metal cupcake stand but i didn’t think it would go with the aesthetic so we decided to do diy it. i followed this tutorialfor inspiration and purchases foam “dummy” cakes and masonite board from d & g occasions here in orlando. we purchased orange paper lace from etsy seller brookerpie to wrap the dummy cakes. my crafty mom and handy dad constructed the cupcake tree below:

my dad painted he masonite boards white and drilled a hole through the top masonite and placed a metal rob through everything so it’s super sturdy. i absolutely love it and can’t wait to see it with all he cupcakes on it! we’re putting a 6″ cake on the top tier for us to cut. we’re having the following cupcake flavors… yellow with chocolate icing (kevin’s favorite), white with buttercream icing (my favorite), red velvet with cream cheese frosting (we have to have something a little southern) and guava cake with cream cheese frosting (i cannot wait to have these)!
