the wedding is just 16 days and i am running on full speed! we’ve tried to do as much diy as we possibly could for two resons: to save money and to have a unique wedding. i’ll feature some of the diy projects that we’ve done thus far: we are not having a sit down dinner. only hour’dourves, beverages, and dessert. so were only having a few large round tables (for elderly guests) and lots of tall cocktail tables without chairs. i purchased beautiful michael miller fabric (which ironically is from the farmer’s market series and the reception is at the farmer’s market) and made table runners for the round tables and scalloped circles for the cocktail tables.

vases for the centerpieces inspired by martha stewart. my mom found glass vases at the dollar store that fit perfectly in a white paper lunch sack. I cut paper bags down to 8″ tall and then used a martha stewart whole punch to scallop the edges (purchased at michael’s). then i tied a 1/2″ satin ribbon around to cinch the bag a little bit and used a hot glue gun to keep to bow in place. we are going to put bunches of marguerite daisies in them (fyi: purchasing cut flowers directly from the florist saves lots of money, you don’t have to pay for them to arrange them).
